Believe it or not, Berea offers a wide variety of things to do. Sometimes all it takes is a little imagination. Some warm and sunny days provide for a plethora of activities. During a busy week, take a blanket outside, bask in the sunlight, and catch up on homework. If you want to do something more active, there are countless places available for walking. Head down to Alumni Fields and explore the trails. Another option is to walk around Old Town. While out and about, there are plenty of unique shops, both in Old Town and in Boone Square that provide opportunities for fun adventures. Get a group of friends and see who can find the strangest item for just one dollar.
If you have several hours of free time, there are plenty of hiking possibilities. Pack some water and snacks and select a destination. The Pinnacles offer a variety of trails and several breath-taking views. Anglin Falls is also a worthwhile trek. To spend a weekend away from Berea, consider camping at Red River Gorge. No matter the location, taking a hammock and music can make the adventure a lovely time.
When the weather is unfit to be outdoors, make the most of a night inside. Pop some popcorn and have a movie night. Invite some friends over and play board games. For a little friendly competition, purchase some marshmallows and see who can win a round of Chubby Bunny. Another game option is to see who can fit the most marshmallows in their mouth. Involving large groups of people to engage in social gatherings can lead to the discovery of a collection of new fun activities.
Have a large group and split the group into two. Each group can make a list of activities to do for the other team, or both teams can come up with a generic list of events. Apart from that, you could also play a game of Capture the Flag on the quad with the large group of people.
Also, the Artisan Center, the pet store, the park, and the Farmer’s Market are all great places to visit. Anywhere you visit, may have an exciting adventure, but you just have to keep an eye open for the opportunity.
