Countdown to 2016 United States Presidential Election

With less than 2 weeks to go, the 2016 U.S. Presidential election is scheduled for Tuesday, November 8, with early voting starting on October 21 through November 7 for eligible voters. To be eligible to vote early one must meet one of the following qualifications: you will be out of your county on Election Day, November 8; you’re a military personnel, their dependent, or a citizen who is overseas; or you’re a military personnel who will be confined to base on Election Day and you learned of that confinement on or after November 1.

According to, all citizens over the age of 18 cannot be denied the right to vote, regardless of race, religion, sex, disability, or sexual orientation; but in every state except North Dakota, citizens must register to vote, and laws regarding the registration process vary by state. Polls will be open from 6 AM–6 PM local time. If you’re in line at your polling location by 6 PM, you’re allowed to vote.

How to register to Vote

You can register to vote online, by mail or in person at the county’s clerk’s office.

Step 1: You’ll need your Kentucky driver’s license or personal ID card number, and your Social Security number to register online.

Step 2: Complete the voter’s registration Form

Option 1: Fill out the voter registration card using the computer, print out the form, sign it, and mail it to the State Board of Elections. Form can be accessed through,

    Option 2: Print out the form, fill out the voter registration card by hand, sign it, and mail to the State Board of Elections.

      Option 3: Stop by the Pinnacle’s office for a form at
